(More customer reviews)Let me start off with a little background. I'm a very conscience consumer who knows very well that things aren't always as good as advertised. My family and I are middle class. We're not poor, definitely not rich, but comfortable. When I spend money on something, I don't like wasting it; therefore, I expect to get a good product backed by good customer service.
A couple of months ago, my wife was given the HooHobbers China Doll Backpack Diaper Bag as a gift from her sister's at her baby shower. It was a bag my wife found online and added to her wish list. Her sister's paid $70 for the diaper bag. My wife began using it once the baby arrived over a month later. After just a few uses the stitching from the backpack strap began unraveling until the strap was useless. After checking the HooHobbers website, I found a claim under the customer details that stated: "Satisfaction guaranteed. Hoohobbers guarantees all products 100%." My wife called the company and explained the issue with the bag. The representive said we can send it back and they would fix it. My wife asked if she could return it and get something else because she did not like the workmanship. The rep said no. My wife then referred to the guarantee. Still there was no compromise. Because she was not given any other option, she said okay to the repairs but then found out she also had to pay for the shipping....
So let me get this straight. Your product is defective. You won't give her sisters a refund or store credit, replace the bag or pay for the shipping back to have it repaired! The reps reply was "we only cover items for 30-days."
First of all, the products that this company sales are going to be used very often as baby shower gifts which generally are given sometime before the baby arrives. This makes it quite convenient for the company since most of these products won't even get used until well after the 30-day period. Secondly, "100% product satisfaction" is a fairly easy term for me to understand. Obviously, this an empty slogan for HooHobbers. This was a diaper bag for $70 and it didn't even last a week! Most online companies, especially companies affilated with Amazon, would do what it takes to remedy the sitution. It just seems that HooHobbers is satisfied in duping the consumer into thinking that because they carry expensive items that the products they sell also must also be top quality. Maybe Hoohobbers is content on overcharging the customer the first time around because they know that there won't be any return business.
I'm sure this company makes items that have decent quality, it just wasn't THIS product. It's a shame that their customer service was so disappointing.
